Remake of Iconic Okean Elzy Music Video Released 27 Years Later

Young Ukrainian showbiz stars have presented a frame-by-frame remake of the iconic Okean Elzy music video “Tam, de nas nema”, which was originally released 27 years ago.
A video parody of one of Okean Elzy’s first clips appeared on the YouTube channel of Yevhen Yanovych. The role of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk was played by three performers — BRYKULETS, Vladyslav Mykhalchuk from the band Schmalgauzen, and Pavlo Hots, the lead vocalist of the band NAZVA.

Other participants who helped recreate the 88 frames of the video included singer Kazhanna, comedian Povar Danil, blogger Sasha Potupa, and others. The remake also featured appearances from members of Okean Elzy themselves.
The original “Tam, de nas nema” video was released in 1998 and became Okean Elzy’s first official music video. The memorable shots featuring the refrigerator became one of the band’s signature visuals for many music fans.
According to Yevhen Yanovych, who worked on the remake, the songs of Okean Elzy are truly the soundtracks of his life. He admired the band since his teenage years and never imagined that one day he would help recreate their iconic video.
“If I had to choose the soundtrack of my life, it would definitely be one of Okean Elzy’s songs. When I was 14, Okean Elzy performed in Zhytomyr for the city’s anniversary, and I could never have imagined that years later I’d be playing the legendary Denys Hlynin in the remake of ‘Tam, de nas nema’,” shared the host.
